The Challenge

The challenge was no small task. How do we generate interest in a London based waste disposal company and turn them into a story which will be published by national press?

The Solution

We needed a story and a headline that would resonate with our target audience, grab their attention and upset their schemas. What could we find? Where should we start? The answer was at the core of our client’s business? Look in the rubbish!

Arguably, by divine intervention the guys at Enviro Waste discovered a fragment of human bone encased in resin with a latin inscription purporting to be the bone of St Clement (The 4th Pope of the Vatican).  

Barracuda recommended and created a specific page on the Enviro Waste website which asked visitors to vote on what to do with the relic.

With such an emotive subject matter, we were able to leverage the interest and turn this into an engaging story generating PR value that can be measured in the 10’s of thousands.

Barracuda’s strategic deployment ensured that we could turn the interest and awareness achieved by the story into better performance in search engines, relevant traffic and what is now the strongest performing waste disposal website in the greater London area.
